Trust in the Lord

"In God, whose word I praise, in the LORD, whose word I praise - in God I trust and am not afraid. What can man do to me? I am under vows to you, my God; I will present my thank offerings to you. For you have delivered me from death and my feet from stumbling, that I may walk before God in the light of life." Psalm 56:10-13 NIV

In our world today fear seems to be a big factor! We here it on the news, on social media apps and even in our communities. Fear!

In the Bible, however, we are told, "Do Not Fear" 365 times! How amazing is that! God knows what we deal with here on earth on a daily basis!

Violence seems to be everywhere...God says "Do Not Fear"

Finances are running out for many to pay their bills ...God says "Do Not Fear"

Health challenges seem to be on the rise for many ... God says, "Do Not Fear"

We want to believe and yet at times it can be quite difficult. Especially when the difficult situations are happening to us personally,

For me, when my 1st marriage feel apart after 33 years, I felt fear, heartbreak, and despair.

I was fearful of how I was going to continue on with my life! I had never lived alone and yet this is where I found myself. I was grieving, angry, hurt and felt betrayed.

God had other plans for me! He showed up in the darkness with those he placed in my life to help me start living again. He was there in the darkness of the lonely nights with His comfort and strength. He was there when I began to see the light in the midst of the darkness and started to smile again.

Was I fearful of what the future was going to look like for me, absolutely. And yet, looking back now, I see His presence and His handprint on my journey forward!

The words, "Do Not Fear" can be easily said and read. However living out these words is a different kind of journey.

This is where God shows up, Jesus walks with you and carries you when necessary, and the Holy Spirit gives you wisdom and strength!

God never leaves us! He never abandons us! He calls us to trust in Him and not to fear!

One day at a time, Sweet Jesus, that's all I'm asking of you....

Take things one day at a time and eventually you will see the light at the end of the tunnel and the joy of living again, laughing again and loving again!

I did and so can you!

Blessings,

Gwen

We felt that Gwen really connected with our audience and her stories were memorable. We were all encouraged by the way she incorporated scripture as she spoke about how God satisfied her soul during a really dark time in life. She is a beautiful Pastor and witness for Jesus!

Becky,

Gwen spoke at my mother's church's Mother and Daughter Banquet today. I was fortunate enough to be a guest and to hear her for the first time. Her message was beautiful, relevant and most importantly a blessing. Although scripture was the foundation of her message, sharing her personal experiences made it more relatable. God is good.
